Mobile Connectivity

In assessing the mobile user experience within the property a number of contributing factors are considered including the source of mobile coverage for a service provider, the extent of mobile coverage, and the quality – moderate and superior.
The source of mobile coverage is important. In most instances a property with a modern dedicated in-building coverage system (Distributed Antenna System – DAS) will provide a higher level of superior mobile connectivity for the mobile carriers connected than those relying on the external macro network. The external macro network presents a shared cell with the occupants of the building and the surrounding area. In most instances only a DAS will provide coverage into back of house areas and basements.
The extent of the mobile coverage within the property is split between the ‘Common Areas’ and the ‘Basement/Carparks’ to reflect the different levels of coverage associated with the different signal sources.
